The Cannabis Plant

The Cannabis Plant

Cannabis is a plant that contains over 100 different compounds, known as cannabinoids. The two most well-known cannabinoids are THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol). THC is the compound responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis, while CBD is non-psychoactive and is being studied for its potential therapeutic benefits.

Cannabis plants come in two main varieties: Sativa and Indica. Sativa plants tend to be taller and have thinner leaves, while Indica plants are shorter and have broader leaves. These differences in appearance can also translate to differences in the effects of the plant, with Sativa strains often producing more energetic and cerebral effects, while Indica strains tend to be more relaxing and sedative.
